Preface

Family history has been a passion of mine for many years now. I have done extensive research on the Wright-Johnson family tree. Inspired by my Uncle Clyde, who wrote a volume titled “My Journey Through Life”, I decided to write a volume of my own, volume two if you will. “Growing up Wright – Another Journey Through Life” is a family history of the Wright-Johnson family union. The settings of this work are primarily in Southern California but does stretch eastward to Cape Girardeau, MO, Henry County TN and the Jackson Purchase area of Kentucky and even areas of North Carolina. The desired purpose for this work is not only a compilation of family stories but hopefully can be used as a historical reference as well. From what I have found posted on line, my family tree is the most detailed and comprehensive on both the Wright and Johnson primary lines, although there is some more detailed research on some of our secondary lines.

This work will take the reader through some of the hardships and joys, untimely accidents and overwhelming excitements of the birth of a child, unions and passing of many in our beloved family members. Finally, this book will also be a road map back in time to the earliest traceable origins of our great family names.

My hope is that this will be a work-in-progress as others pick up the torch when I am gone. Future editions to this work are welcome.
